Is it ok to store my Apple Powerbook for a few months? Will the battery be ok?

I straight returned home from college along with my Apple powerbook laptop. Now that I'm back impress upon I really don't see myself using it all that much since I have my desktop to use. I want to box in my laptop down and put it away in the carrying case unitl I need it again which will probably be when prepare starts in 3 months. What do I need to do? Should I remove the battery?

If the battery is lithium then trickle it to 40% charge, take it out, and store it in the refrigerator. This will cure to preserve the battery since lithium ones have a lifetime which degrades applicable to the temperature of the surroundings - the colder the better.

If it isnt lithium, then scarcely take it out and store it somewhere at room temperature.

Apple Laptop Carrying Case: Secret Service raids Apple store webcam 'artist'
