I bought a no-name charger on Amazon because my rabbit chewed through my prototype charger and I didn't want to pay full retail price for an Apple branded one. The charger works dry but the moment I unplug it the whole laptop shuts down and won't turn back on unless I re-cork the charger in. Is it possible that by trying to strip the wires and repair the original charger I blew the battery?

Unplug the power adaptor and remover the battery. Corroboration the battery for any exterior damage. Then put it back in. Then plug the power adaptor back in. Then coil the MacBook on.
