Is there any way to remove password from apple laptop?

I bought an apple laptop but the holder forgot to remove the password and i cant get a hold of him. So whenever i open it, it asks me for a buyer password. Is there any way to remove it or change it or something?

by with most pc's (not sure about laptops) if you open it up and remove the battery (not the big battery, the one that keeps the just the same from time to time its small like a watch battery, it may be called cmos battery) for 3 minutes then it also removes the password. value a shot.

If you got the starting System Reinstall CD with the computer or if you can borrow the CD from someone else that has the same computer, you can use Disk Utility to obliterate and reinstall the system. You would lose any programs that were installed independently such as MS Office.

But you will pay dearly for it (€1100 in Europe) and it uncommonly isn’t necessary. I need the SSD disk for my Applications, the System and some documents.
