I am getting a new pc. Can you run a Intel Pith i7 920, GTX 295, Asus P6T Deluxe Intel X58 Chipset, with a 800W PSU? Do I have to get a more substantial one or not?

Yes, as extensive as it isn't a totally cruddy PSU thats super reasonably.Any decent PSU at 800 W will be fine.

GTX 295 is a fetching heft card. But seeing as you only need around 500-ish Watts for a 9800 GTX, you are thin.
