This 15-inch laptop features AMD's Athlon II dual-pit processor and has many of the features offered by other mainstream machines. Create The Inspiron 15 M5030 is a basic black rectangle that weighs 5. Lifting the lid, the slick black turns into trim around the screen, power button, and edges of the deck and keyboard. The rest of the deck is a harsh matte black, which is reminiscent of the forgotten-about underside of many budget notebooks. Incompatible with other Dells we've seen recently--such as the Inspiron 17R and the XPS 15z --the Inspiron 15 trades the hinge-on-the-deck aim for a dropped hinge design, which we prefer. The Inspiron 15's turn to advantage is fairly attractive, but the overall look of the laptop is tasteless, which is not surprising given the price tag.
