I have a Dell XPS M1710 and am a spoonful worried to bring such a big 17 inch laptop into class. But, it might be well-deserved me, is that normal?
No, that's not positively normal, but I don't think it would be awkward. Most people, including college kids, have 15.4 inch screens. You could do it if you wanted. Some desks might be too slight feel embarrassed for it though. They can be pretty small. To be honest, only a small mob of people in my classes take notes on their computers, most advance good old fashioned pen and paper.
