Dell AC adapter flashes green light on and off once and does not provide power to my computer.?

My laptop is splendid, and I do not have power problems on the laptop specifically. This is ONLY the AC adapter power cord. When it is plugged into any escape hatch in my home, the green light on the power adapter flashes once and then turns off. This happens regardless of whether the line is plugged into the laptop. This happens with my husband's dell laptop AC adapter too.

Obviously something is wrong with either your outlet or your power cord. If it works no where in your inviolate home, then its probably your charger because there is no way it could be your entire homes relief system is messed up. If thats the case, get a new charger.
