My laptop is 3 years old. With all the software and everything it has become really slow - for everything. Not having enough money to buy a new one I ratiocination to upgrade.

My computer is a Dell Latitude D610 spinning at an astonishing 1.8GHtz with a thumping 512MB RAM....

I just bought 2 1G memory thingis - to use the bustle term - to upgrade the memory.

Your only veritable upgrade with a laptop is the memory anyhow, so you made the right purchase.

Most laptops are built with a cooling denouement that only supports a small range of CPU's. So even if you upgraded, you are looking at possibly a 200mhz increase in CPU frequency, which would only translate into perchance a 10% increase in performance.

Go to important.com and run the system scan they have there. They will advise which type of memory you can run and upgrade to on your particular system. I supposition you should have done that before making your purchase but try it anyway.
