I have been having problems with my Dell Latitude D620, with the intel integrated graphics. At first, this computer had the motherboard with the Nvidia Quadro graphics, and at the end of the day burned out. I purchased a motherboard from ebay with the same specifications except for the graphics being intel rather than nvidia because of their trend to overheat. I cleaned the heatsink, removed the thermal pads from it, installed copper shims, all with the belief that the computer would once be bent. I reminisce over that when I first installed the new motherboard, I applied new thermal paste to the cpu, but did not whip the thermal pads (didn't become public to my r :( ).

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've tried all of these. Nothing failing of setting it on an jell ice pad prevents the overheating. I never use it on my lap, it sits on a ventilation bear, the fans work overtime and are never blocked and I keep the ventilation areas leave bare and free flowing.
Contemplate on getting a cooling pad for it. You may also need to clean it out, a can of compressed air (anti-interference sort) is ideal for this. One other thing that may work is to prop up the back of the computer, two things fresh about this: Makes it easier to type (also better for your wrists), and allows more airflow under the laptop.
