Dell latitude D630 laptop--AC power cord, battery or circuitry problem ?

I've recently noticed that my laptop battery is not being charged when I'm using the AC power adapter at current in, but it's charging when it's sitting in the docking station at the office.
As expected, the battery begins to void once I undock it to take it home.
Unplug the AC adaptor from the docking station and chew it directly into the laptop and see if the same thing happens.
