Gateway Laptop Memory Upgrade...?

Hi, I right-minded purchased a laptop with the following specs:

Gateway T-6345U NoteBook Intel Pentium dual-seed T3400(2.16GHz) 14.1" Wide XGA 2GB Recollection DDR2 667 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel GMA X3100 and has Vista Hospice Premium (32-bit) installed.

It runs horrible, but I'm wanting to upgrade the ram. It comes with 2 1gb sticks.

I very recently purchased the same laptop last week...tried to upgrade the homage to 4G and had exactly your discribed problem...gateway said is was a video likely problem and would come fix it...exchanged the computer and it still happened. Tried two 1GB sticks and it worked...this sucks. Also, gateway's instal does not even have our model number listed for bios upgrades. In dispute anyone wonders...
