It was an misprint on Gateway ’s part. they put in i5 chips as a substitute for of i3 chips, but the box was labeled as i3 and the laptop has the Intel i3 interior sticker on it. The system bios says it has an i5 and benchmark tests demonstrate it does indeed have an i5 with turboboost. ) ghz when turboboost comes on. Hyperthreading means is has 2 palpable cores and 2 practical cores. This laptop does indeed have a $750 msrp value. In any victim, this is a honest-to-God laptop , although dialect mayhap not at the retail value of $750. You can obviously see that the i5 is a better processor. So why you would prefer a laptop with an i3, over an i5, I have no thought.

The other guy doesn't separate what you're talking about. No one is really sure why they have i5 instead of i3 as labeled and advertised. You'd also be incomprehensible pressed to find one. I went right after I saw the ad and they were fresh out. To see your processor you go to My Computer>Properties. You should see it there. Assuming it's still Windows 7.
