Is the CPU in my gateway desktop embedded into the motherboard?

I currently have a Gateway FX6831, It has a Insides i7 860 and I looked at intel's website and it says the processor is embedded. Does that near its embedded into the motherboard? Or is that just one of Intel's unusually perks I guess?

What he said. There isn't a one CPU (That's made by a big company) that's not embedded into the motherboard. There is a PCI add-on that increases your processor effectuation but no embedded cpu.

as far as I recognize, NO CPU is EVER integrated into a desktop.

No, that processor can be removed from the motherboard. The Intel specifications page-boy states that the the Core i7 860 is a socket 1156 processor (LGA 1156).
