I have an hp laptop, and a kith and kin member of mine also has one, and after a while, the bottom of the computer just gets really, as a matter of fact hot and it can actually burn! So when i'm on it a lot, I turn down the screen brightness, and put it on "power saver" way and it seems to help a little bit.
Oh and I also heard about some HP battery recall, should I look into that?
try blowing some compressed air into the vents, dust gets stuck up in the air. My laptop went so hot it would build off, usually at around over 120 degrees. After the compressed air, it gamed at around 90 or less on a very concentrated game. Also, use it on hard surfaces and not so much on a sofa or bed.
