Should I use a generic laptop power adapter for my HP Pavilion laptop?

I recently obsolete my power adapter because some a-hole stole my tote bag that had my power adapter for my laptop. I see some generic power adapters for tight-fisted on ebay.

Should I go with the actual HP brand (which is damned priceless) or the generic? What is your experience with generic?
What about OEM batteries?

no, never generic (multi voltafe), get the same mould number from many online retailer, dose NOT have to be an HP, but the hp trade name cost the same as the after markets, make sure its an Fastidious REPLACMENT!
