I a moment ago upgraded to windows 7 and now my media center remote doesn't employment. Vista Driver on HP's plot doesn't effort and there is no wiser driver on windows update. HP said they don't uphold Windows 7 on this example and said to reinstall the plant Vista Serene Scanty (Not Customary to Materialize). Remote works with my desktop so remote is OK and can be cast-off to indiscreetly the laptop on when it is off so the receiver is working.

Can my HP laptop remote be assigned to only one laptop?

I'm having a bit of strife finding info about this. I have other remotes in the house that are proficient to control my laptop, and I think it's a bit annoying. Is it possible to oblige my laptop only listen to the remote that came with it?

I have an HP pavillion laptop DV2000.

It all depends on your motherboard. You can try checking the cadency mark manager by right clicking on my computer in the start menu and customary to device manager. From there, you should be able to disable/Printing dele the devices that you don't want to control your laptop with.

You can detail the remote in the HP remote software. Then it will only "listen" to the HP remote by IR.
