I am outlook of getting a laptop with this processor, but noticed it was clocked at 1.6 GHz...is that promiscuous enough? Will I be able to run Grand Theft Auto 4 smoothly with that processor even tho it recommends a Intel Core 2 QUAD @ 2.4 GHz? the laptop comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M which is tolerably decent.
it should be ok. What that processor does, if only one CPU is being old (as is by most games), it speeds up the clock to it's "Push" speed (2.8Ghz), and as long as the kindle stays low, it stays at the high speed if needed.
It's strictly a power/eagerness saving method. The 1.6Ghz is intended for all 4 cores to be competition, which generates a certain amount of heat.
