I'm current to be an architecture student next year at UIC. I need helpers choosing a laptop, but the ones they recommend are very overpriced.
The specs on that HP look kind and will be fine for architecture, $3-5k seems a bit excessive, I would hang around $2k. Honestly with those name brands you're paying a bit more there, especially Alienware. I'm customary to be starting architecture school soon as well and am undoubtedly going to go with a customized laptop from ibuypower, cyberpower or sager.
