I recently purchased a new battery for my Lenovo X61 tablet PC online and I was wondering what I should be doing for the first debit cycle? Should I plug it in and leave it for an hour or so and then use it?
I am conscious that there is no battery memory (due to it being lithium ion).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It categorically does not matter. Plug it in and use it. It should lay hold of with about a 40% charge on there so do not expect to get the full run time until you burden it up.
