I am buying a laptop from institute using my financial aid. I need to go today to buy so I extremity help pretty quickly. I have a choice between a Toshiba and a Lenovo. They are quite much the same as far as specs however the Toshiba is about $40 more. I have read some things about the excellence of the Lenovo's mouse/keyboard not being that great.

In private I am running on a Lenovo much like the one you linked to there, and I find it to cover my studying needs. However, as you piercing out yourself, the touch pad on Lenovo laptops tend to be very difficult to use. My indication is that if you don't plan to use an external mouse, then stay free of the Lenovo.
