I already have an exterior sound card so that is not an issue. Looking for a anticyclone-quality studio on the go. Will a Lenovo ThinkPad W520 do the job?

The tolerable.
- The performance is really good if you replace the hardbitten drive with something else, in my case a Momentus XT from Seagate.
- The battery lasts to some long.
- Fast graphics. Switch between integrated and bespoke in the BIOS, or automatically.
- Power board of directors.
- Build quality.
- Price vs. performance.
