The chassis of the HP 655 is  made exclusively out of plastic . The surfaces are treated differently: some areas are intelligible and textured (base unit, display frame), others are even and painted (palm rest, keyboard frame and magnificence lid). The painted surfaces feel nice and are  not prone to fingerprints. We really doubt that the palm rest is scratch resistant, as this would insist the use of colored plastic during the manufacturing process. We expect the brush to scuff at the edges sooner or later. The notebook features a minor extent wedge-shaped base unit, seems strapping  and quite suitable for daily use.
